What is the Prayer Room?

The Prayer Room is located in the main auditorium at the Town & Country campus.

The Prayer Room was birthed on June 9th, 2008 out of a hunger for intimacy with God.  It is a place where His name is being lifted up as the foundation for everything we do at Destiny Church in St. Louis, Missouri.  The love song of the Prayer Room is to sing His praises, that He be high and lifted up. Our desire is to see a joining together of the generations in unity as they learn to desire Jesus the Bridegroom in their heart. “His Kingdom come, His Will be done” has become the heartbeat of who we are and what defines us. We believe that prayer really does change the world and prepare the way for God’s divine purposes to be done on the earth.

Through Intercession and Personal Devotion sets, using a Harp & Bowl worship model, we are committed to changing the spiritual atmosphere of our city. The Prayer Room serves as an equipping and training center for prayer leaders, musicians and singers.  The Prayer Room is open to everyone desiring a place where the fullness of God is being ushered in. We are continuing to add to our weekly prayer hours as the Lord leads.

FAQ’s

What are the different prayer room formats?

Currently the Prayer Room has two formats, which are defined below:

Intercession
This prayer format is designed to use the prayers of the New Testament apostles to engage in unified intercession for citywide revival. In other words, to intercede for a general outpouring of the Spirit (historical visitation of the Holy Spirit) on the whole church across the city (region) that the Lord highlights to intercessors in the room.

How to: We welcome you to share your prayers on the microphone as the prayer leader directs, or engage with us from your seat as we seek the Lord together.

Personal Devotion
This prayer format is designed to provide an anointed atmosphere for individuals to meditate on the scriptures as they linger in God’s presence. The songs and music style are devotional in focus that we may sit at the feet of Jesus as Mary of Bethany did.

How to: Seek the Lord in the atmosphere of intimate worship through prayer, scripture meditation, Bible study, or dialoguing with the Holy Spirit.

How can I get involved with the Prayer Room? There are a number of different ways you can get involved in the Prayer Room:

Am I released to dance in worship?

There is not a lot of open space for dancing in the Prayer Room. If you feel led to dance before the Lord, please find an area near the back and off to one of the sides where you won’t be a distraction to others in the Prayer Room and please stay mindful of those around you.

What is the Prayer Wall? And how do I use it?

Cards are available at the bottom of the wall to add prayer requests to the wall.

Praying over the requests on the wall is welcome anytime.

Tuesday mornings we clear the Prayer Wall by having people take a card home with them to pray over.

New cards are added shortly thereafter.

You can also submit a request online.
